General Description

The Dickey Knob Trail crosses several small creeks by means of wooden foot bridges. The climb is mainly narrow single track. At mile 2.4, there is a spectacular cliff top view of rye Valley, sugar Grove and beyond. This trail was designed for foot and mountain bikes.

Directions from Damascus, VA: The trail begins in Raccoon Branch Campground. Travel U.S. 58 east for approximately 6.5 miles, U.S. 58 veers rights, however, you will want to continue straight onto Rt. 603. Take Rt. 603 for about 10 miles to Troutdale. Turn left onto Rt. 16 and travel approximately 3 miles to the campground. If you are not using the campground, park across Rt. 16, about 50 yards south of the campground entrance.
