Report: it was a great atv trail. we had a 3 fourwheelers and met some other people on the trail that we rode with. Start your ride at macks pines it cost 2 dollars per vehicle to park they have everytjing you need there is 28 miles of trails but there are several ways to go and it is fun. It is a really pretty place to ride but take something to drink if it is dusty. we ended up riding about 60 miles that day. i would recomend it to any one who has good experince on a atv. you need to have good ground clearence and good brakes though and take a camera.
Conditions: rocky fun some steep climbs. rough trails but it was great. need better maps and trail markers.
Water Availability: we took plenty and there is a store at the start of the trail. also there are several creeks and ponds for horses.

Report: Rode entire trail system on saturday 8-11-01 and was pleased with variety I encountered. There werenumerous creek crossings, narrow single track, steep and rocky climbs, off cambers and wide open log roads. There is a nice campsite at the Moccasin Gap trail head and we also were fortunate enough to see an abundance of wildlife. Entire system is ~ 33 miles long and took our group about six hours to complete.

Report: We visited moccasin gap over Thanksgiving and we had a wonderful time riding our 4-wheelers. It was a great trip and we will definitely visit again. One other thing to mention is the forest rangers in the Arkansas areas are very helpful and supportive of riders. We always make a point of checking in at the forest ranger stations and talking with them. They have always been friendly and helpful, providing us with more detailed maps and local information.

Report: Returned to Mocassin Gap and was able to ride entire trail system this weekend. The Gap Hollow and High Mountain Loops are much more demanding trail systems but can be easily ridden by anyone..some sections of the high mountain loop may require the use a 4WD ATV as this portion of the trail is very steep and uneven. Again the scenery is spectacular and crowds are minimal. Plan to have ~ 6 hrs to complete the ride and enjoy the sights along the way

Report: Visited this area for the first time this past week and must say I was very pleased with what I found. There is abundant parking at Macks Pines located just to your right off Highway 7 and they do have a variety of items that we generally forget in our haste to get to the riding areas. My travels on this trip took me down portions of the Stave Mills Falls and Black Oak Ridge Loops and in my opinon both trails have much to offer. There are several nice waterfalls located along the Stave Mills Falls Loop and much of the trail is open logging roads which allow you to really open your four wheeler up but remain catious as I encountered several people riding horses. Black Oak ridge was a more technical type trail offering off cambered hill climbs, rocks, and narrow winding paths through some picturesque portions of the Ozarks. Unfortunately I did not allow myself enough time to explore the entire trail system but I will definately return next week.
