Hikers can reach the Bluebell-Baird Trail from the Gregory Canyon or Chautaugua Trailheads

The Bluebell-Baird Trail leads south from the Gregory Canyon Trailhead .7 miles to the Chautaugua Trail. The path takes hikers beneath the first Flatiron for spectacular views of the formation. The trail gains 340 feet in elevation and is rated easy by the Mountain Park Rangers. This is an ungraded dirt trail that leads through ponderosa pine forest.
Directions from Highway 36: Take the Baseline Road exit and travel west toward the mountains. Follow Baseline Road 1.5 miles passed the entrance for Chautaugua Park to the Gregory Canyon Trailhead. Turn left into the parking lot on a dirt road. A parking fee is charged at this trailhead for vehicles not registered in Boulder County or not displaying a Boulder Resident Permit. Permits can be obtained at the trailhead or at the Chautaugua Park Rangers Cottage.
Directions from Highway 36: Chautaugua Trail Access: Take the Baseline Road exit and travel west toward the mountains. Follow Baseline Road nearly 1.5 miles to the entrance for Chautaugua Park. Turn left into the park. Parking is free at this trailhead.
