Gregory Canyon Trail follows a stage coach route through the canyon
|
The Gregory Canyon Trail leads west from the Gregory Canyon Trailhead. The trail leads through Gregory Canyon climbing 900 feet in 1.1 miles. The trail surface is very rocky and can be slippery after precipitation. At the top of the canyon the trail splits first to the right leading to Green Mountain Lodge and the Flagstaff Mountain Road. A short distance after this fork the trail splits again. Gregory Canyon Trail ends at this split. The right fork is Long Canyon Trail and the left fork becomes Ranger Trail.
Directions from Highway 36: Take the Baseline Road exit and travel west toward the mountains. Follow Baseline Road 1.5 miles passed the entrance for Chautaugua Park to the Gregory Canyon Trailhead. Turn left into the parking lot on a dirt road. A parking fee is charged at this trailhead for vehicles not registered in Boulder County or not displaying a Boulder Resident Permit. Permits can be obtained at the trailhead or at the Chautaugua Park Rangers Cottage.
Directions from Flagstaff Mountain Road: From Highway 36 take the Baseline Road exit and travel west toward the mountains.
