General Description

The NCAR (National Center for Atmospheric Research) Trailhead lies atop Table Mesa at the end of Table Mesa Drive. There is no parking fee for this trailhead, which can accommodate close to 100 vehicles. From this site visitors can tour the NCAR facility as well as gain access to several trails. The Orr Interpretive Trail lies immediately west of NCAR and provides interpretive panels about the climate and topography of the area. Other trails accessible from NCAR include Mallory Cave Trail, Mesa Trail and Bear Canyon Trail.

Directions from Highway 36: Exit the highway on Table Mesa Drive, south of Boulder. Turn west and follow Table Mesa Drive approximately 3.5 miles to the NCAR facility.
