General Description

The Cold Springs Nature Trail leads eastward along the East Fork of the Kaweah River. The trail consists of a half-mile trail lined with interpretive signs. The route is flat and provides excellent views of the surrounding glacier-carved valley. The interpretive panels provide information about the natural features of the valley. Beyond the last sign the trail continues along the river and connects with a road in about three quarters of a mile. This is a good trail for kids, but be careful near the river bank.

Directions from Lookout Point Entrance: Follow Mineral King Road eastward to the ranger station. If you are camping begin from the campground. If you are not camping, park at the Mineral King Ranger Station and walk into the campground. The trail begins from campsite number 6.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: June through October (NOTE: This trail may be snow covered during the Early Summer and Fall months.) .
