Moore Creek Campground is a developed campground located 11 miles northeast of Interstate 5 on Gilman Road. This seasonal (May - August) campground sits at approximately 1,085 feet elevation on the McCloud Arm of Shasta Lake. There are 12 single unit sites (1 vehicle - 8 persons) that may be reserved as a group site. Facilities include drinking water, vault toilets, and trailer sites. Recommended RV length is maximum 16 feet. All sites have picnic tables, fire rings, food lockers, and unpaved parking spurts. Boating, fishing, and swimming are the main activities. Wildlife watching is a common pastime. Hirz Bay boat ramp is just 4 miles away; launch fee applies. Watercraft rentals and marinas are nearby. Nearest supplies are 15 miles away in Lakehead.
Directions from Redding, CA: Take Interstate 5 to Gilman Road. (From the north, take Salt Creek exit to Gilman Road.) Travel east on Gilman Road for 14 miles to entrance. The Interstate exit (Salt Creek / Gilman Road) is 20 miles north of Redding.
