General Description

Aspen Mountain, the flagship mountain of the Aspen/Snowmass resort complex, rises imposingly out of the heart of downtown Aspen to 11,212 feet. This 673-acre mountain is known for steeps and bumps and is a favorite among upper-intermediate and advanced skiers. For over fifty years, skiers have looked to the steep slopes above town for some of the most challenging skiing in the world. Aspen Mountain is one of the few ski areas in the country which does not permit snowboards.

Aspen will surprise you. A historic mining town, Aspen's rich culture and community provide endless opportunities for visitors to renew the mind, body and spirit. This acclaimed resort is very much a real town, nestled among some of the most beautiful natural scenery found anywhere in the world. Visitors will find some of the finest restaurants, hotels, shopping, and nightlife of any ski town in the country. The Silver Queen Gondola gives you the opportunity to view this historic town and its surrounding mountain peaks from the summit of Aspen Mountain, winter or summer.

Directions from Denver: Take I-70 west to the Glenwood Springs exit #111. Follow Hwy 82 , 40 miles to Aspen.
