Snowmass, one of four mountains in the Aspen/Snowmass resort complex, is a massive 3,128 acre mountain offering incredibly varied terrain for skiing and snowboarding. Snowmass is known for long, cruising runs but also offers some excellent, steep, expert terrain, and a 4,406 ft. lift served vertical rise, the highest in Colorado. The Cirque is legendary among advanced skiers and riders. The Hanging Valley area - the closest thing to the backcountry without actually going out-of-bounds -includes steeps, glades, cornices, cliffs and deep snow. Snowboarders will love Snowmass' halfpipes and terrain parks. Accessible by free shuttle from anywhere in the Aspen/Snowmass area, Snowmass is located just 12 miles from downtown Aspen. 95 percent of Snowmass' accommodations are ski-in ski-out. For more information call the Aspen Skiing Company at 800-525-6200, or Aspen Central Reservations and the Aspen Chamber Resort Association at 888-452-2409.
