|
Cahill Pond Trail lies in the northern portion of the park. It is trail number 34 in the Mueller State Park system. It connects the Chessman Ranch Trail to the Buffalo Rock and Moonshine Trails. The first quarter mile of this trail is open to horse, bike and foot travel. Beyond the intersection with Buffalo Rock Loop Trail, Cahill Pond Trail is open to foot traffic only. This trail begins along Chessman Ranch Trail shortly before the two loop ends meet. The trail leads north from this intersection descending slowly, then turning eastward. Within a quarter mile the Buffalo Rock Loop empties into the trail. Cahill Pond Trail continues leading eastward for a short distance, turns northward then rounds a corner to the pond. As the trail leads around the pond shores it ends at the intersection with Moonshine Trail.
