Dome Rock (9.6 miles) Trail begins in the southern portion of the park at the Four Mile day-use area. The trail leads westward from the trailhead through Four Mile Creek Canyon, following Four Mile Creek and crossing it nine times. It begins as an abandoned road and within two miles becomes a single track. The path leads passed the ruins of the Sand Burr Mine and Jackrabbit Lodge, historic remains of settlement in the area. The terminus of the trail lies in the southwestern corner of the park on the western side of Dome rock. This geological feature rises 800 feet above the surrounding valley floor. Dome Rock Trail joins Spring Creek Trail southwest of its namesake formation, where the trail turns sharply eastward. Using these two trails in connection with Willow Creek Trail creates a long loop that will take hikers most of the day to complete.
Directions from Mueller State Park Entrance: Travel south passed the main state park entrance on State Highway 67. Nearly two miles passed the entrance turn right on to Teller County Road 61, Fourmile Road. Follow this a few miles to the southern entrance to the park and the Dome Rock Trailhead.
