General Description

Shinleaf camping is located in the woods with access to the water. The campsites are primitive but there is an abundance of them, 89 sites in all. Once you reach the campground, you may fish from the shore.

The parking area and restrooms are wheelchair accessible.

Directions from Raleigh, NC: SR 50 north of Raleigh to SR 98. Turn right and travel about 1.5 miles turning left on New Light Road.

ICON Camping There are 89 hike-in campsites at Shinleaf, each containing picnic tables, outdoor grill and tent pads. Mulch toilets are scattered throughout the campground and there's a centrally located washhouse. Camping is available year-round.
