General Description

Bullocksville is home to family campers providing water and electrical hookups, a picnic table, fire pit and tent pad at each site. Showers and restrooms may be found nearby.

A shady picnic grove along with two shelters are located lakeside. A community building with separate parking is available for large gatherings.

A tot lot, concession and baseball field are part of Bullocksville. No protected swimming areas are available.

Directions from Henderson, NC: Take I-85 north for approximately 9 miles turning west on SR 4. Travel about 3 miles to Bullocksville.

ICON Family Camping There are 69 tent / trailer campsites, each containing picnic table, outdoor grill and tent pads; some sites even have water and electric hookups. Showers, restrooms and a dump station are centrally located. Campsite reservations may be made for a stay of seven days or longer, otherwise campsites are available on a first-come basis. Camping is March 15th through Labor Day. Always call the park office to double-check camping dates.

ICON Fishing Expect to catch striped bass, largemouth bass, white perch or crappie. Bullocksville offers a wheelchair accessible fishing pier. Boat launch available.

ICON Viewing Wildlife Flora and fauna thrive in this recreation area. Colorful wildflowers like tickseed sunflowers, butterfly weeds and asters can be found nestled next to a number of oak species as well as loblolly pines. White-tailed deer, rabbit, quail, red fox and raccoons are some of the most common forms of wildlife. Bluebirds, goldfinches and wrens sing in the trees as wood ducks and mallard paddle in the nearby water. Soaring in the sky overhead are red-tailed hawk, osprey and the bald eagle. At night you may hear the great-horned, barred or screech owl.
