General Description

Backside Trail is a very heavily used path particularly during the warmer months. This is a quick .9 mile moderately difficult path. This trail leads to Crowders Mountain Summit at 1,625 feet. Parking and climber access is conveniently located of SR?????

Directions from Gastonia, NC: From I-85 take Exit 13 (Edgewood Road) about six miles west of Gastonia. Cross over I-85 and turn right onto Highway 29/74. Go a little less than one mile and turn left onto Long Linwood Road. You will see a park access area. From this area, you may begin Tower Trail.

Seasonal Information:
Normal Services Available: Year-round (NOTE: Park Hours: November-February 8am-6pm; March/October 8am-7pm; April, May, September 8am-8pm; June-August 8am-9pm. Office hours: 8am-5pm daily. Gates will remain locked, except in emergency situations, when the park is not in operation. Please plan accordi) .
