General Description

Cimarron Canyon State Park's most popular trail, the Clear Creek Canyon Trail, is a moderately difficult seven mile roundtrip. Following Clear Creek through a forest of ponderosa pine and fir, with mountain wildflowers scattered about liberally, it leads to several picturesque waterfalls and pools. Open to hiking only, the trail is relatively easy to follow and has lots of shade, crossing the creek on a log footbridge.

Directions from Taos: Take Highway 64 East from Taos.

Jasper-Agate Trail - Like many of the old logging road trails in Cimarron Canyon State Park, the 4 mile Jasper- Agate Trail is steep and rocky but wide.

Maverick Canyon Trail - Like many of the old logging road trails in Cimarron Canyon State Park, the 10 mile Maverick Canyon Trail is steep and rocky but wide.

Tolby Creek Canyon Trail - Like many of the old logging road trails in Cimarron Canyon State Park, the 14 mile Tolby Creek Canyon Trail is steep and rocky but wide.
