General Description

Sixty sites for tents, trailers and motor homes are available from the second Friday in April until after antlerless deer season in late December. Restrooms, hand washing facilities, drinking water and a sanitary dump station are available. The campsites are completely shaded, close to a play field and within easy walking distance to all park facilities. A playground is located in the campground.

Directions from Lewisburg, PA: Travel west for 18 miles on PA Route 192 to reach the park. Camping is on a loop road east of the lake. The single cabin (lodge) if found just beyond the park office on the left.

ICON Cold Water Fishing The park is a cold water fishery which features brown and brook trout in the 7-acre lake. Rapid Run affords 12 miles of trout stream. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks the lake and Rapid Run regularly during the season. Additional trout fishing is available along surrounding mountain streams. Warm water fishing is within easy driving distance from the park and includes the lower portion of Penns Creek and the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Walker Lake.

ICON Hiking & Walking Hiking trails totaling 6.3 miles provide easy hiking with only short stretches of steep inclines. Trails within the park are marked and maintained, but a map and proper attire are recommended for your comfort and safety. Raymond B. Winter is an ideal starting point for backpacking trips. Map and trail information for designated state forest trails are available at the park office. Parking is available for those who would rather not leave their vehicle along the highway.

ICON Lodging One modern rental cabin is available for year round use. The cabin is furnished and has a living area, kitchen/dining area, one and one-half baths, and sleeps 8 in four bedrooms. Renters provide their own bed linens, bathroom articles, kitchenware and eating utensils. Advance reservations are required. Additional information may be obtained at the park office.

ICON Swimming & Waterplay It is permitted along 300 feet of guarded sand beach and is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, unless posted otherwise. A play area is located next to the beach.
