General Description

Sugar Fork Trail is an important trail connecting the Eagle Creek and Hazel Creek areas. There is a wonderful spur trail to the north, Bone Valley Trail which offers views of two waterfalls. This trail also offers access to primitive camping and the long Lakeshore Trail to the south.

Directions from Fontana Lake, NC: On the western side of the lake, by the dam begins Western Shoreline Trail. Take Western Shoreline to Pinnacle Creek Trail and onto Sugar Fork Trail.

Bone Valley Trail - This is spur trail off Hazel Creek Trail.

Hazel Creek Trail - Hazel Creek Trail is one of the network trails located north of the Fontana Lake Area. Primitive campsites and trout fishing are recreation opportunities.

Jenkins Ridge Trail - The Jenkins Ridge Trail may be accessed from Pinnacle Creek Trail. Jenkins Ridge travels up to the Appalachian Trail.

Lakeshore Trail - Lakeshore Trail may be accessed from either the western or eastern side of Fontana Lake.

Pinnacle Creek Trail - Pinnacle Creek Trail is a connector leading from Western Shoreline Trail to Sugar Fork Trail and other trails on the northern side of Fontana Lake.
