On the eastern edge of Kansas' Flinthills Region, Turkey Point Park is on Melvern Lake. It draws outdoor enthusiasts from a wide range of disciplines. Melvern Lake covers approximately 7,000 acres of water and 18,000 acres of land open for public use. Turkey Point Park offers 50 camp sites (16 with electric hook-ups and 20 with 50 amp electric and water hook-ups), a group camp area with shelter, a boat ramp, and numerous individual picnic sites. Other amenities include a shower building, sanitary dump station, vault toilets, pay phone, courtesy dock with fish cleaning station, two day use areas affording users access to the lake, and two playgrounds.Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance. 2 night minimum weekend stay. 3 night minimum holiday stay. There is a limit of 1 wheeled unit and 1 tent, or 2 tents per camp pad. The park is open year round. Facilities are available May 1 to September 3 and a park attendant is on duty.
