General Description

Salt Valley Road leads ten miles northwestward from the main park road to the park boundary. The road has a gravel and dirt surface and is usually passable by two-wheel drive vehicles. It provides access to the little-used Klondike Bluffs area of Arches National Park, which includes the Tower Arch Trail and road. A four-wheel drive tour can be made by using Salt Valley Road in conjunction with Tower Arch Road and Four Wheel Drive Road. This road should not be attempted by two-wheel drive vehicles is precipitation is in the immediate forecast.

Directions from Main Park Entrance: Drive northward on the main park road 16.7 miles to Salt Valley Road.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: Year-round (NOTE: This route is not maintained extremely slippery conditions may exist after heavy rains or snow.) .
