General Description

Sunset Campground lies along the Scenic Drive two and a half miles south of the Visitor Center. The facility consists of 100 individual sites, two of which are accessible to wheelchairs. There is also one group site at this campground available with a reservation. Recreation vehicles are not permitted beyond Sunset Campground on the Scenic Drive.

This sites at this campground are available on a first come, first served basis. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early during the summer as the facilities often fill by noon. The campground amenities consist of drinking water, a dump station and restrooms. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit and grate. More amenities are available at the General Store near North Campground.

Directions from Bryce Canyon Visitor Center: Drive southward along the Scenic Drive less than 2.5 miles to Sunset Campground.

Seasonal Information:
Normally Open: Mid-May through October (NOTE: Conditions can be crowded from May through September. The facility closes when temperatures reach freezing during the late fall.) .

Navajo Loop Trail - This trail leads in a one and a half mile loop through two small washes that contribute to Bryce Canyon.

Peekaboo Loop Trail - This short loop winds through the southern head of Bryce Canyon and many strange and fascinating rock formations. It can be hiked from Sunset Point, Sunrise Point and Bryce Point.
