Thomas A. Jaggar Museum, located about three miles from the park entrance along Crater Rim Drive, offers earth science displays and features murals depicting Hawaiian culture. An adjacent overlook offers a panoramic view of Kilauea Caldera and Mauna Loa, with interpretive panels on volcanism. Hawaii Natural History Association operates a bookstore at this location with an extensive selection of books, maps, videotapes, slides and other educational items.
Directions from Park Entrance: Follow Crater Rim Road passed the Kilauea Visitor Center to the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum. It is about three miles from the park entrance.
