Description
- Some of the attractions on this district include: access to the Little Missouri Falls forested picnic area; Crystal, Albert Pike, Collier Springs, and Bard Springs campgrounds. Trails include the Viles Branch Horse Trail, the Little Missouri Trail and the 27 mile Eagle Rock Loop, which combines portions of the above two trails.
Recreation - The Caddo Ranger District offers visitors to the area a multitude of recreational activities including, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, viewing scenery, picnicking, and camping. Climate - Arkansas experiences relatively mild winters and warm to hot, humid summers. The area can offer snow-free outdoor recreation opportunities during the winter months. Be prepared however, for occasional cold weather during the winter, especially at the higher elevations of the Forests. Location -
The Caddo Ranger District is located along the southern end of the Ouachita National Forest, west of Hot Springs and north of Glenwood. The district borders the Mena and Womble Ranger Districts. The primary access routes are from U.S. Hwy. 70, and Arkansas Hwys. 84, and 8.
