General Information

Description - Woolly Hollow State Park is nestled in the Ozark foothills of central Arkansas. The waters of 40 acre Lake Bennett offer one of the best swimming and fishing holes in central Arkansas. Canoes, pedal boats, fishing boats, and motors are for rent. Boating is limited to electric motors, and a launch ramp is available. A snack bar and bathhouse with hot showers are located near the swimming beach.

Attractions - Facilities include 32 campsites, picnic area, a standard pavilion, gift shop, and a trail encircling the lake. Woolly Cabin, the log home of the area's first settlers, offers a historic perspective to the beautiful hollow.

Recreation - Woolly Hollow State Park offers camping, picnicking, hiking, swimming, boating, fishing activities.

Climate - Arkansas has a temperate climate with the coldest temperatures near freezing during December, January and February. Daytime highs for these months usually reach 55 degrees F. Spring and fall temperatures are very mild with lows dipping to 44 degrees F and highs reaching 70 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year with average temperatures reaching 90 degrees F. June and September average temperatures usually reach into the mid-eighties. Spring and winter months are the wettest of the year.

Location - Woolly Hollow State Park is located in the Arkansas River Valley Region of central Arkansas. To reach the park, take Exit #125 off I-40 at Conway and travel 12 miles north on U.S. 65, then six miles east on Arkansas Hwy. 285 to the park.
