Holland State Park offers access to both Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa.

Description - Holland State Park was acquired from the City of Holland in the early 1940s. Since then it has been intensively used for it's great beach and excellent campgrounds with over 300 sites and over 140 lakeside acres providing access to both Lake Michigan and Lake Macatawa.
The Holland area is well known for its Tulip Time Festival held every year in the spring. Here, visitors can see and walk among the widest variety of and greatest number of tulips grown anywhere in America.
Attractions
- Two modern sun-drenched campgrounds are found in each unit of the park. The Lake Macatawa Campground is a traditional campground offering 210 campsites, while the Lake Michigan Campground is an asphalt parking lot lined off into 98 campsites. Both campgrounds have modern bathhouses and provide electric hookups for each campsite. The Lake Macatawa Campground opens April 1 and closes October 31. The Lake Michigan Campground opens the Wednesday before Memorial Day and closes the day after Labor Day.
The day use area has a picnic area with picnic tables and grills, playground equipment, picnic shelter, restroom, beach shelter and concession. The shore of Lake Michigan provides a great area for swimming and a beautiful beach for sunbathing. The day use area of the park is opened all year offering ice fishing and winter sightseeing. A boat launch is available for campers, which provides access to Lake Macatawa. From Lake Macatawa, the boater can use the channel for access to Lake Michigan. These waters offer the angler a wide variety of fishing opportunities. For anglers without a boat, the pier along the north side of the channel provides an excellent place for shore fishing. Charter boat services are available in the area to take anglers out on Lake Michigan.

Recreation - Water sports and camping are the main recreations enjoyed at Holland State Park. Picnicking, playground fun, and year-round fishing attract visitors as well.

The park is located eight miles west of Holland. (From westbound BR-196, take exit 55 and follow park signs to Ottawa Beach Road. From eastbound BR-196, take exit 44.)
