Report: This is a beautiful park, so close to the city. The lakes (for swimming) tend to get a little crowded on weekends, but if you have ever been to Jones Beach - this is nothing. If looking to picnic near the swimming areas - get there early or you will not get a table. If you like deer - enter or exit the park at dusk, and you will see planty ! My family counted over 30 on our last trip - some just next to our car. Had my sons last birthday party there - grabbed some friend and had a BBQ - they played baseball and football all day, threw some rocks into the lake. That was April, we saw maybe 10 people all day. Definitely worth the trip.
