Description
- Massanutten Resort is a fun, family oriented place to ski, snowboard and tube all winter. The mountain has 5 lifts and 14 trails, including 4 easy, 6 intermediate and 4 difficult trails as well as a snowboard half pipe. A tubing park offers winter fun for all ages. Ski Schools has individual and group lessons at all levels for both skiing and snowboarding, a race team, Slope Sliders for kids 4-14 and an adaptive ski program. The lodge hosts the Ski Patrol, Ski School, Cafeteria, and Encounters Lounge. A General Store, selling snacks, skis, snowboards, necessities and souvenirs and the Rental Shop are very close by.
Recreation - Downhill skiers enjoy 5 lifts, 14 runs, and a 1,110-foot vertical drop over a variety of terrain ranging from beginner to difficult. There is a snowtubing area, half pipe, cross-country ski trails and array of summer activities that include racquetball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing and river rafting. Year-round amenities include crafts, live entertainment, nightlife, childcare, cooking classes, wine tastings, full-service spas and even local historical tours. Climate - The Shenandoah Valley Travel Region experiences warm humid days during the summer often accompanied by pleasant mountain breezes. Frequently temperatures hover around 80 degrees Fahrenheit or warmer. Spring and fall are wonderful times to visit this mountainous area. Leaf lookers flock to the area each October.
