The park offers a visitor center, picnicking, hiking trails, horse trails, mountain bike trails, full hookup campsites, hunting, concession, interpretive programs and shelters. This park is excellent for cross-country skiing and winter camping.
Mt. Rogers Recreation Area and Jefferson-Washington National Forest adjoin Grayson Highlands State Park to the north. Camping reservations in Jefferson-Washington National Forest are available by calling 1-800-280-2267. The Virginia Creeper Trail is a 33.4 mile multi-use trail beginning in Whitetop, Virginia, approximately 10 miles from the park. The trail ends in Abingdon, Virginia. It is very popular with mountain bikers. Many festivals take place throughout the year, beginning in March and ending in October. Ramp, Molasses, Maple, Fiddlers, Bluegrass and Fall Harvest festivals are the biggest attractions. Call the Grayson County Tourist Information Center at (540) 773-3711 for more information.
