The Gunnison National Forest and Curecanti National Recreation Area provide Gunnisonians with endless recreation opportunities on land and water. Winter activities include snowshoeing, ice skating, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing and snowmobiling. During the summer months outdoor adventures include swimming, water skiing, boating, hiking, road biking, mountain biking, fishing and four-wheel driving.
