Half Moon State Park is located on the west side of Lake Bomoseen. The 23-acre Half Moon Pond rests on park property offering rainbow trout, yellow perch, largemouth bass, bullhead and panfish. Lake Bomoseen offers anglers a similar choice in species from the 2,360-acre lake. The state park offers camping, a playground and hiking trails to High Pond and to Bomoseen State Park. Cross-country skiing permitted in winter by walking around entrance gate; all facilities closed including restrooms.
Nearby attractions include Hubbardton Battlefield, Wilson Castle and Vermont Marble Exhibit all in Proctor; Morgan Horse Farm, Middlebury; Lake Champlain Ferries, Devil's Bowl Speedway, Benson; and Shelburne Museum located in Shelburne.
