At present, Lake Anna is a day use park. Coming sometime in 2002, and soon available for reservation, the park will offer a number of fully equipped cabins. Lake Anna has been a recreation haven for years. The large lake accommodates powerboats, pontoon boats, canoes and sailboats. Water-skiing is a popular sport as well as warm water fishing. The lake is regularly stocked with largemouth bass, shad, catfish and yellow perch. Sunfish are plentiful as well. The beach and playground facilities are practically unsurpassed in the state. An attractively landscaped visitor center is steeped with rich history of the gold mining industry that occurred in this area during the early 1800s. This park is very accessible for the handicapped including a fishing pond that also accommodates young children. Fees apply. The very large picnic facilities are a major attraction for family reunions, church gatherings and corporate outings.
Private camping facilities are scattered throughout the area.
