The Grand Junction Ranger District of the Uncompahgre National Forest lies to the west of Montrose. In the section closest to town you'll find ample opportunities for four-wheel driving and motorcycle riding. An indoor-outdoor aquatic center and an 18-hole golf course can be found in Montrose.
