This campground is actualy a bit over three miles from Buckkhorn - rather than two - the first half all downhill and the second half back up. Once you get there, it's a gorgeous spot lying in a bright, sunny clearing. There are three campsites - a quite large one for groups, and two smaller, more intimate ones set back into the shade of the trees. Because of the drought conditions for the past few years, the stream is almost non-existant at the moment. It runs for five or ten feet, then disappears underground only to appear again later for a few more feet. There's just enough water in it at the moment to stick your water filter in, or to cool off your feet - about four/five inches at spots - but that's about it. As the summer and fall progress, I wouldn't count on even that. You may have to pack in your own water. Also pack in toilet paper! While nice, the vault toilet doesn't seem to be regularly maintained.
