Took my son Backpacking for his 10th birthday. Coming out of the creek-bed from Lion Camp the hike is moderately steep but very exposed. Best to avoid at mid-day in August. After trail forks it got hard to follow. Backtracked to a clearing & pitched the tent. Beautiful night watching bats & stars.

The trail runs along a creek bed and at this time of year we had the added treat of the Fall colors of the trees along the creek. Someone has destroyed (we found pieces of it) one of the trail signs about 1 mile into the hike. There were no further trail markers or signs and often, as the trail progressed, it was difficult to tell the difference between the creek bed and the trail. Beautiful location, would return when I had more time to explore.
