I hiked down the trail on 05/23 then back out on 05/26. The climb down was more difficult for me then the climb back out mostly due to toe blisters. There was a nice breeze all the way up the trail and shade was found often enough even as late in the day a noon. The top of the main grade has a couple of nice large pine trees that make for a great lunch stop after having completed the toughest part. Bring plenty of water.
