We started this hike from McCaleb Ranch. (the road will be open on 6/1). Be prepared for a very long hike w/ lots of elevation gain and loss (the map is incorrect!!!). Trail 1109 is not well maintained, you will wade through poison oak. A better option is the jeep trail although it is extremely steep and rocky in patches the views are better. Overall, the scenery was unbelievable and the solitude can't be beat
