Bear Lake Area Rocky Mountain National Park The Bear Lake Area is a popular area during the winter months for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. The area is located on the east side of the park.
Big Buck Basin Divide Ranger District,
Rio Grande National Forest
This area offers some excellent opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.
Creede Poker Run Divide Ranger District,
Rio Grande National Forest
The snowmobile trail follows roads, trails, and traverses cross country through both open and timbered areas.
Dillon Reservoir Winter Recreation Dillon Ranger District,
White River National Forest
Dillon Reservoir lies between the the towns of Dillon and Frisco. Traveling on the reservoir can be DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF THIN ICE.
Lemon Area Winter Sports Site Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
Terrain is varied with gentle up and down slopes. A good area for beginning skiers.
North Clear Creek Road 510/Santa Maria-Seepage Road 509 Divide Ranger District,
Rio Grande National Forest
The route crosses open parks and rolling aspen-covered hills. Beautiful views of Bristol Head Peak and the surrounding mountains of the Continental Divide, as well as North Clear Creek waterfall are available.
Rainbow Lake Winter Recreation Site Dillon Ranger District,
White River National Forest
The Rainbow Lake area is located just south of Frisco. It provides winter opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
SolVista Colorado Ski Areas SolVista serves as a good and affordable beginner and intermediate area catering to families and others wanting to get away from the crowds. In addition the area offers over 40 km of groomed cross-country ski trails.
Spring Creek Pass (FR 513) Divide Ranger District,
Rio Grande National Forest
The trail is marked with orange diamonds. Snowmobilers help pack the trail on a regular basis.
Spring Creek Snowmobile Area Dillon Ranger District,
White River National Forest
The Spring Creek area is located between Silverthorne and Kremmling. It provides a some of the best snowmobiling terrain on the Dillon District.
Vallecito Area Columbine Ranger District,
San Juan National Forest
Terrain is generally level with minor up and down grades. A good area for beginning skiers.
