Alamosa Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Alamosa Campground is on the Alamosa River 4 1/2 miles above Terrace Reservoir Dam. There is public fishing at Terrace Reservoir and trail access to Alamosa-Rock Creek and Big Lake Trails.

Arkansas Headwaters State Park	Arkansas Headwaters State Park, Colorado State Parks	This park offers some of the highest quality white water opportunities in the country.

Aspen Glade Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Aspen Glade Campground has 34 sites with picnic tables and fireplaces. There is public access to the Conejos River.

Beaver Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The facilities include 20 sites with tables and fireplaces. Attractions in the area include fishing in Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir and hiking on Tewksberry Trail 842.

Big Meadows Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Attractions include fishing at Big Meadows Reservoir and in the South Fork of the Rio Grande, access to the Weminuche Wilderness via the Archuleta Creek Trail 839, visiting Cascade Falls.

Bristol Head Peak Road 532	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	From the head of Bristol Head Peak, a magnificent panoramic view of the entire region exists for miles in summer and winter.

Bristol View Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Campground is located 22.6 miles west of Creede on Forest Road #510. 16 Campgrounds with fishing and trail access.

Buffalo Pass Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The campground is near dirt Forest Roads 791 and 792. It is also an area for big game hunting.

Cathedral Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Cathedral Campground is northwest of Del Norte on Embargo Creek.Campground is located in an aspen grove with a beautiful view of Cathedral Rock to the north.

Cave Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Cave Creek is a fishable stream with several good camping sites along it. From the top of the mountain, a good view of the San Luis Valley can be seen. During the fall, the aspens are colorful along this road.

Comstock Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Comstock Campground is in the Rock Creek Drainage 18 miles southwest of Monte Vista. The South Fork of Rock Creek provides fishing. Big game hunting and hiking trails are accessible from here.

Conejos Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Conejos Campground has 16 campsites with picnic tables and fireplaces. There is public access to the Conejos River. Both day and overnight use is permitted.

Crooked Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Usually has a vacancy when other upriver campgrounds are full.Located very close to Forest Road 520, with heavy traffic.

Cross Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Cross Creek Campground is in the Beaver Creek drainage southwest of the town of South Fork. Beaver Creek and Beaver Reservoir have fishing. Cross Creek Trail # 512 has the biggest Douglas fir tree in the Rio Grande National Forest.

Cumbres Pass Dispersed Camping Area	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The Cumbres Pass Camping Site is behind an old Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad Station and is located at the top of Cumbres Pass just off Highway 17.

Elk Creek Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Elk Creek Campground has 31 sites with picnic tables and fireplaces and 14 overflow campsites (no picnic tables or fireplaces). There is public access to the Conejos River and Elk Creek.

Fullerton Park Road 620/Laughlin Gulch Road 706	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	These roads provide access to Fullerton Park area. This area is managed for livestock grazing.

Hanson's Mill Dispersed Camping Area	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This campground is located 16.8 miles east of Creede on Forest Road #600. Campers will find this to be a good vantage point for viewing vistas of distant mountains.

Highway Springs Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The south fork the Rio Grande provides fishing opportunities. There are 16 sites and no drinking water or firewood is provided.

Horse Canyon Road 745/North Fork Road 766	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	These two roads provided a loop jeep road on the west side of Saguache Park. Saguache Park is a very large dry park with livestock grazing on the major uses.

Ivy Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This facility has one developed site with a table and fire ring, and 3 undeveloped sites. This campground is considered to be remote and is usually not heavily used, yet it is very attractive with trees and open grassland.

La Manga Dispersed Camping Area	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	La Manga Creek Dispersed Camping Area is located 24 miles west of Antonito off Highway 17. No facilities are provided.

Lake Ann	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This scenic lake sits just below the Continental Divide.

Lake Fork Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Lake Fork Campground is 7 miles south of Platoro on the Conejos River. There are 17 campsites with tables and grates.

Lost Trail Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The campground is located 38.2 miles southwest of Creede on Forest Road 520. There are numerous attractions to tempt the camper.

Love Lake	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Site is located 17 miles southwest of Creede on Forest Road #526 at an elevation of 10,000 feet. Good general area in the fall to observe and take pictures of fall aspen colors.

Luders Creek Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The road leading to the campground is itself of historical significance. It was one of the famous toll roads leading west from Saguache built by Otto Mears.

Marshall Park Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This site is located near Colorado Hwy. 149 and is the closest forest campground to Creede. There is very little screening or trees, so heavy vehicle traffic along Colorado Hwy. 149 is visible.

Mix Lake Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Mix Lake Campground is located one mile west of Platoro in the Conejos River drainage. Many bodies of water provide fishing and there is access to the South San Juan Wilderness nearby.

Mogote Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	There is public access to the Conejos River and Piñon and Juniper Group Picnic Areas are nearby. Reservations are accepted at this campground.

North Clear Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Some sites are in open, while some sites are screened with small aspen/spruce/fir. Good general area in the fall to observe and take pictures of fall aspen colors.

North Crestone Creek Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	North Crestone Campground is in the narrow valley of North Crestone Creek at the base of Sangre de Cristo Range.

North Lime Creek Trailhead	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Trailhead is located 18.5 miles south of Creede on Forest Road #528.Trailhead Bulletin Board - District map; map dispenser box for Weminuche Wilderness maps and information; trail registration box and forms.

Old La Manga Dispersed Camping Area	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	There is no fee charged; however, there are no facilities. Pack your trash out please.

Palisade Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Some sites are open, while other sites are screened with cottonwoods/aspen/spruce/fir. Campground is located adjacent to Colorado Highway 149 for easy access to travelers passing through.

Park Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Wolf Creek Pass is 9.5 miles from the campground and the south fork of the Rio Grande and Park Creek are accessible for fishing. The facilities have 13 sites.

Pinyon Flats Campground	Great Sand Dunes National Monument	Piñon Flats Campground is open all year on a first-come, first serve basis. Each site has a picnic table and fire grate. Facilities include water fountains and spigots as well as restrooms with sinks and toilets.

Pool Table Road Scenic Drive	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Scenic views of the Rio Grande River Valley are visible for the first few miles of the trip. Road climbs through spruce/fir and aspen timber to beautiful rolling, grassy, subalpine parks.

Poso Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Mountain Biking, fishing, four-wheel driving and big game hunting can all be accessed from Poso Family campground.

Regan Lake (House Canyon) Road 521	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This is an easy, short (4.8 miles), dead-end jeep road which primarily provides fishing access to Regan Lake (91.5 acres).

Rio Grande Dispersed Camping Area	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Site is located 9.5 miles southwest of Creede just off Colorado Highway 149. Screening - on an open bench directly on Rio Grande River - trees along river.

Rito Hondo Reservoir Dispersed Camping Area	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Rito Hondo Reservoir is a 41 acres. It is a very open area with only grass vegetation and is often windy. Despite the limited facilities, this area experiences extra heavy use.

River Hill Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This campground has good screening with trees on many sites and remains full from mid-June through August. It is adjacent to Rio Grande River and Little Squaw Resort.

Road Canyon Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This campground usually has vacancy when other upriver campgrounds are full. The area is open, with no screening or trees, and it is not screened from Rio Grande Reservoir Road.

Rock Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Rock Creek Picnic Area is nearby. One can fish on North Fork Rock Creek and South Fork Rock Creek and hike on Alamosa-Rock Creek Trail 703, North Fork Rock Creek Trail 704 and South Fork Rock Creek Trail 702.

San Luis Lakes State Park	San Luis Lakes State Park, Colorado State Parks	San Luis Lakes and Wildlife Area lies in the southeastern San Luis Valley.

Sawmill Canyon Campground	Great Sand Dunes National Monument	For a unique backcountry experience, Sawmill Canyon Campsite offers excellent scenery and solitude. Less then 1 mile north on Medano Pass Road, the two car parking area can accommodate up to four wheelchairs.

Schrader Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The attraction of this road is wildlife viewing and hunting access. On Schrader Creek, there are numerous camping spots.

Silver Thread Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	This facility is located adjacent to Highway 149. The area is mostly open and grassy with little screening or trees. CO Highway loops around the campground on three sides, with no screening from the campground.

South Fork Dispersed Camping Area	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The South Fork Camping Site is three miles north of the Rocky Mountain Lodge, west of Forest Road #250. The site lies between the road and the Conejos River at the South Fork Trailhead.

Spectacle Lake Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Spectacle Lake Campground has 24 sites with picnic tables and fireplaces. There is access to the Conejos River and Spectacle Lake.

Stone Cellar Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Stonecellar Campground is in Saguache Park near the confluence of tributaries forming Saguache Creek.

Storm King Campground	Saguache Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Stormking Campground is on the Middle Fork of Carnero Creek 10 miles northwest of La Garita.

Stunner Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Stunner Campground is beside the Alamosa River 2 miles below the top of Stunner Pass. There is public access to fishing in the Alamosa River. Stunner is a ghost town of historic significance.

Thirtymile Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Campground and trailhead are located 31.1 miles southwest of Creede on Forest Road #520. Adjacent to Rio Grande River and Thirty Mile Resort.

Trail Creek Dispersed Camping Area	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	The Trail Creek site is 2.5 miles south of Lake Fork Campground on the Alamosa-Conejos River Road (Forest Road 250). No facilities are provided.

Trujillo Meadows Campground	Conejos Peak Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Trujillo Meadows Campground has 50 campsites with picnic tables and fireplaces. The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad route is nearby.

Tucker Ponds Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Tucker Ponds Campground is in the Pass Creek drainage just off U.S. Highway 160. Fishing attractions include Tucker Ponds and Pass Creek.

Upper Beaver Creek Campground	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	Upper Beaver Creek Campground is southwest of South Fork in the Beaver Creek drainage.13 campsites with tables and fireplaces.

Willow Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Divide Ranger District, Rio Grande National Forest	In the early morning or late afternoon one is likely to see deer or elk. There is good fishing in Willow Creek along the first 4 miles of road, and ample camping spots along the entire route.
