Ashcroft Ski Touring Center	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Located 12 miles above Aspen in the spectacular Castle Creek Valley, Ashcroft offers 35 kilometers of groomed terrain for all levels of Nordic skiers.

Aspen Cross-Country Center	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Offers ski lessons, tours, retail shop, rentals, a lounge, lockers, snacks, and videos.

Aspen High School Trail System	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Excellent skiing on varied terrain, and better snow conditions in warmer weather because of the higher elevation and exposure.

Benedict Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Connects the East end of Aspen to the North Star Nature Preserve.

Difficult Creek Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is an enjoyable day hike through a variety of forest environments. It's a convenient hike for campers at Difficult Campground.

Eagle/Thomasville Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	This road is not a four wheel drive road, but is very dangerous and slippery when wet. Do not drive on it if rain is in the forecast or it has recently rained!

Express Creek Road to Taylor Pass Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is a popular high-altitude jeep route beginning at Express Creek Road. Because of the altitude snow is often present well into mid-July.

Four Mile Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	This road passes through aspen and conifer groves and meadows. It is used mainly by campers, hunters, bikers and drivers who want to see some beautiful scenery.

Government Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Government Trail is an enjoyable day hike or mountain bike ride through aspen groves. It is also known as Brush Creek Trail and is a popular cross country ski trail in the winter.

Hagerman Pass Four-Wheel Drive Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	The Hagerman Pass area is a relaxing ride packed with tons of beautiful scenery. There are campgrounds at Turquoise lake and Ruedi Reservoir that provide convenient camping and fishing.

Hunter Valley Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Summer and winter, Hunter Valley is one of the most popular trips from Aspen because of its beauty, accessibility, and peaceful setting. You can spend anywhere from 2 hours to all day on your tour in Hunter Valley.

Independence Pass	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This mountain-pass road is one of the best ways to see some amazing scenery out of your car window. It crosses the Continental Divide at Independence Pass (elevation 12,095 feet.)

James E Moore Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	The James E. Moore Trail has a short loop and a connecting trail to the the High School, Iselin and Owl Creek trails.

Lincoln Creek Road, #106	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	There is access to many activities along the first six miles of the road. The section of road from Grizzly Reservoir to the ghost town of Ruby is much less traveled and suitable only for hiking, mountain biking and 4 WD.

Marolt Property Tracks	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Used primarily as an access route between the west end of Aspen and the Aspen Golf Course and the High School tracks. Dogs are allowed.

Maroon Creek Area	Maroon Creek Area, Aspen Ranger District	The Maroon Creek area is located southwest of Aspen. The scenic Maroon Bells are the focal point of this area but not the only attraction.

Maroon Creek Club Trails	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	These trails are accessed from the Tiehack Nordic Bridge or from the Buttermilk base area.

Maroon Creek Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Maroon Creek Road leads to Maroon Lake and the Maroon Bells, the most photographed mountains in the country. This route is good for taking an all day trip with a picnic stop.

Midnight Mine Four-Wheel Drive Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is a fairly well maintained dirt road with several steep sections. It is not used by four-wheel drives as much as Little Annie or Summer Roads.

Montezuma Basin Four-Wheel Drive Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	There is often snow on the road well into July. This road is very rugged, and in some sections is located in a stream.

North Star Nature Preserve Loop	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are one of the few uses permitted on its flat, open meadows close to the Roaring Fork River.

Owl Creek Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	This popular and scenic trail connects Aspen and Snowmass Village, hugging the south side of the Roaring Fork and Owl Creek valleys.

Richmond Hill Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Richmond Hill extends from the top of Aspen Mountain to the south, forming the eastern ridge of the Castle Creek Valley. From this vantage point users have a great view of many of the surrounding mountains in the Aspen area.

Rim Trail	Snowmass Village Area, Colorado Community Areas	This trail near Snowmass Village offers a challenging snowshoe in the winter, hiking and biking in the summer, with fine views across Snowmass Village, the ski areas and surrounding mountains.

Rio Grande Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	A popular walking, skiing and snowshoeing trail, that follows the old Denver and Rio Grande Railroad bed along the Roaring Fork River.

Schofield Pass Four-Wheel Drive Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	Schofield was an old mining town and is now a ghost town with a number of old building still standing. The first portion of the road passes through a narrow, steep canyon which contains a number of picturesque water falls.

Smuggler Mountain Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Smuggler Road is used heavily by mountain bikes, runners, hikers and their dogs. Smuggler Road provides a short (1-1/2 mile) work out with great views of Aspen, which makes it very popular.

Smuggler Mountain Road to Lenado Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Smuggler Road is used heavily by mountain bikes, runners and hikers. The section of trail through Hunter Creek is not as heavily used, but is popular with hikers and mountain bikers, and cross country skiers in the winter.

Smuggler Mountain/Warren Lakes Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	The portion of the road to Warren Lakes is very steep and not used as heavily. From Smuggler Road you can also access Hunter Creek, Van Horn Park, and Lenado.

Snowmass Cross-country Center	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	The western hub of the Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System. Located on the golf course, it has a retail shop, snack bar, restaurant, lessons, rentals and tours.

Taylor Pass Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This road climbs from the Taylor River Valley, over Taylor Pass, to the Castle Creek Valley, near Ashcroft. This road can be very rough at times, check at District Office before using.

Terminator	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	An exciting trail for advanced cross-country skiers. Used to access the Owl Creek Trail.

Thompson Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	Thompson Creek Road provides access for many hiking and biking trails including the following: South Thompson, Lake Ridge Lakes, Mid Thompson, South Branch of Mid Thompson and Dexter Park. It passes through aspen groves and crosses many small streams.

Village Way	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Connects Snowmass Village with the Snowmass Golf Course tracks.

Weller Lake Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is a moderate climb with fair fishing at the lake. There is limited camping (Camp stoves ONLY) at the lake. Because of the fragile alpine tundra, it's recommended that camping be below the timberline.
