Ashcroft is a ghost town about 13 miles from Aspen on Castle Creek Road. A National Historic site, built in the 1880's, Ashcroft was the site of an mining camp with a population of over 2,000 people.
Difficult Family Campground is located five miles southeast of Aspen on Highway 82. It has 47 sites with limited spurs to accommodate trailers up to 40'.
