Activity Location Description
Basalt Mountain Road Sopris Ranger District,
White River National Forest
This road is heavily used by mountain bikers, horseback riders, campers, fishermen and hikers. You can access the Basalt Mountain bike loop trail and Cattle Creek Road, via county road #13.
Buford-New Castle Road Blanco Ranger District,
White River National Forest
This route takes you from Buford, 22 miles east of Meeker on the White River, to New Castle, 44 miles south, on the Colorado River between Glenwood Springs and Rifle. The road is gravel.
Crooked Creek Pass Loop Eagle Ranger District,
White River National Forest
This loop south of Eagle, links Yeoman Park, Hat Creek, Crooked Creek Pass and Sylvan Lake. It is recommended for mountain bikes or high clearance, 4 wheel-drive vehicles.
Eagle/Thomasville Road Sopris Ranger District,
White River National Forest
This road is not a four wheel drive road, but is very dangerous and slippery when wet. Do not drive on it if rain is in the forecast or it has recently rained!
Four Mile Road Sopris Ranger District,
White River National Forest
This road passes through aspen and conifer groves and meadows. It is used mainly by campers, hunters, bikers and drivers who want to see some beautiful scenery.
