This is a day use trail for hiking, horseback riding and motorized vehicles less than 40". It is primarily used during the big game season.
Elk Park Grand Junction Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
Elk Park Trail leads northeast from Forest Road 128 following Middle Creek. The trail ends in the Gunnison National Forest at Overland Reservoir.
Gill Creek Grand Junction Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
Springtime fishing on Gill Creek is the best on the Plateau. The trail opens the last few days of May just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
Green Mountain Trail Grand Junction Ranger District,

Scenery is the highlight of this trail with the Cedaredge Valley below, the San Juan Mountains to the south and the West Elk Range to the east. The aspen trees provide autumn hiking beauty.

Views of eastern Utah and the Manti-La Salle Mountains are the highlight of this short hike.
Unaweep Trail Grand Junction Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
This is the most scenic trail on the Plateau. This trail provides spectacular views of the rolling sandstone and granite hills of western Colorado and eastern Utah.
Ute Creek Trail Grand Junction Ranger District,
Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests
This is a good day use trail for horse travel. Wildlife and scenery of the Calamity Basin and eastern Utah are main attractions of this trail.
