King Lake Cross-country Ski Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail is located west of Nederland and Eldora, in the Middle Boulder Creek Trail System. It accesses King Lake. This area offers relatively flat skiing terrain, with steeper pitches as you near the lakes.

Last Chance Trail	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	The trail crosses Last Chance Creek near the beginning and then is an easy walk through meadows most of the way. It ends at the junction with Tellurium Lake trail.

Lefthand Park Reservoir Cross-country Ski Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This relatively easy trail begins west of Ward, on the Brainard Lake Road. The road is generally well covered until you approach the reservoir where severe winds off of Niwot Ridge may scour it clear of snow.

Lily Lake Trail	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	The Lily Lake Trail goes through areas of lush vegetation. Large, dense stands of trees make it a beautiful area to hike through, and also provide the opportunity to spot wildlife.

Lily Pad Lake Trail	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	The views from the trail are great with lots of open meadows. This route also makes a great loop for bicycles.

Lincoln Creek Road, #106	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	There is access to many activities along the first six miles of the road. The section of road from Grizzly Reservoir to the ghost town of Ruby is much less traveled and suitable only for hiking, mountain biking and 4 WD.

Lion Gulch Trail	Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	The Lion Gulch Trail is located southeast of Estes Park. It follows Lion Gulch into the Homestead Meadows area. The snow is intermittent in this area.

Long Lake Trail #917	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail cuts deep into the wilderness, offering an excellent high mountain winter experience. As a consequence, good physical conditioning and equipment are very important.

Lost Lake Trail #813	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail is located west of Nederland and Eldora, in the Middle Boulder Creek Trail System. It accesses Lost Lake. This area offers relatively flat skiing terrain, with steeper pitches as you near the lakes.

Mammoth Gulch Cross-country Ski Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This relatively easy trail follows an old road southwest of Nederland, west of Rollinsville. The area features some historic sites including the Giant's Ladder (a series of old railroad switchbacks on Rollins Pass) and the Mammoth Mining Co. buildings.

Marolt Property Tracks	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Used primarily as an access route between the west end of Aspen and the Aspen Golf Course and the High School tracks. Dogs are allowed.

Maroon Creek Area	Maroon Creek Area, Aspen Ranger District	The Maroon Creek area is located southwest of Aspen. The scenic Maroon Bells are the focal point of this area but not the only attraction.

Maroon Creek Club Trails	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	These trails are accessed from the Tiehack Nordic Bridge or from the Buttermilk base area.

Maroon Creek Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Maroon Creek Road leads to Maroon Lake and the Maroon Bells, the most photographed mountains in the country. This route is good for taking an all day trip with a picnic stop.

McAllister Gulch/Hornsilver Mountain Four-Wheel Drive Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	This steep and difficult jeep road begins south of Minturn at Camp Hale. It eventually links into the Wearyman, then the Shrine Pass roads, ending in the town of Redcliff.

Meadow Mountain Trail #915	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail takes the traveler through a narrow canyon to the St. Varian Mountain Trail. The road section is sheltered from the wind and easy to follow.

Meadow Mountain/ Line Shack Trail	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	This trail follows an old road from the Holy Cross Ranger District Office, up Meadow Mountain to a small cabin known as the Line Shack.

Middle St. Vrain Ski Trail #910	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	The route starts on Middle St. Varian Road, crosses the river west of Camp Dick Campground and continues west on the north side of the creek. The ski continues to the vehicle closure via the snowmobile route.

Midnight Mine Four-Wheel Drive Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is a fairly well maintained dirt road with several steep sections. It is not used by four-wheel drives as much as Little Annie or Summer Roads.

Mitchell Creek Cross-country Ski Trail	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	The Mitchell Creek area is located to the west of Hwy. 24, near the top of Tennessee Pass. Because of its high elevation, the area has a longer winter season than many other areas on the District.

Mitchell Lake Trail #912	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail cuts deep into the wilderness, offering an excellent high mountain winter experience. As a consequence, good physical conditioning and equipment are very important.

Montezuma Basin Four-Wheel Drive Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	There is often snow on the road well into July. This road is very rugged, and in some sections is located in a stream.

Morgan Creek Cross-country Ski Trail	Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District, Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests	The Morgan Creek Cross-Country Ski Trail is located north of Steamboat Springs in the Hinman Park area, on Seedhouse Road. It is one of five trails in the Hinman Park Trail System described here.

No Name/Wurtz Ditch Four-Wheel Drive Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	The No Name Jeep Road is located south of Minturn. The road can link to Wurtz Ditch creating a loop back along Hwy. 24, however, snow fields remain late into the summer and the link is often not possible.

North Fork Trail	Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail north of Estes Park follows the North Fork of the Big Thompson River into Rocky Mountain National Park.

North Star Nature Preserve Loop	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are one of the few uses permitted on its flat, open meadows close to the Roaring Fork River.

Owl Creek Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	This popular and scenic trail connects Aspen and Snowmass Village, hugging the south side of the Roaring Fork and Owl Creek valleys.

Rabbit Ears Pass Cross-country Ski Area	Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District, Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests	The Rabbit Ears Pass Cross-Country Ski Routes are located 13-18 miles southeast of Steamboat Springs on Rabbit Ears Pass. The area consists of 9 separate marked trails or loops.

Rainbow Lake Winter Recreation Site	Dillon Ranger District, White River National Forest	The Rainbow Lake area is located just south of Frisco. It provides winter opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.

Rainbow Lakes Road CR. #116	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail takes the traveler to Rainbow Lakes before it descends back to the beginning.

Ranch Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	This jeep road south of Minturn, climbs four miles from Camp Hale, to scenic meadows with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

Red Sandstone/ Lost Lake Road Cross-country Ski Trail	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	This trail follows Red Sandstone Road north of Vail to Lost Lake Road and eventually to Lost Lake. There are a number of other forks off of Red Sandstone Road.

Red Sandstone/Piney River Ranch Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	Red Sandstone Road provides the main access to a large area north of Vail. The road begins in the town of Vail and is passable in two-wheel drive vehicles.

Richmond Hill Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Richmond Hill extends from the top of Aspen Mountain to the south, forming the eastern ridge of the Castle Creek Valley. From this vantage point users have a great view of many of the surrounding mountains in the Aspen area.

Rim Trail	Snowmass Village Area, Colorado Community Areas	This trail near Snowmass Village offers a challenging snowshoe in the winter, hiking and biking in the summer, with fine views across Snowmass Village, the ski areas and surrounding mountains.

Rio Grande Trail	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	A popular walking, skiing and snowshoeing trail, that follows the old Denver and Rio Grande Railroad bed along the Roaring Fork River.

Rock Creek Road & Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail takes the traveler to the St. Varian Mountain Trail via Rock Creek Road. The road section is sheltered from the wind and easy to follow.

Rocky Fork Trail	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	This trail is fairly steep for the first half mile, then levels off to a gradual climb until it connects with Road #528.

Schofield Pass Four-Wheel Drive Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	Schofield was an old mining town and is now a ghost town with a number of old building still standing. The first portion of the road passes through a narrow, steep canyon which contains a number of picturesque water falls.

Shrine Pass Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	The Shrine Pass Road is an improved gravel road which runs from Redcliff, over Shrine Pass, to the top of Vail Pass.

Smuggler Mountain Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Smuggler Road is used heavily by mountain bikes, runners, hikers and their dogs. Smuggler Road provides a short (1-1/2 mile) work out with great views of Aspen, which makes it very popular.

Smuggler Mountain Road to Lenado Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	Smuggler Road is used heavily by mountain bikes, runners and hikers. The section of trail through Hunter Creek is not as heavily used, but is popular with hikers and mountain bikers, and cross country skiers in the winter.

Smuggler Mountain/Warren Lakes Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	The portion of the road to Warren Lakes is very steep and not used as heavily. From Smuggler Road you can also access Hunter Creek, Van Horn Park, and Lenado.

Snowmass Cross-country Center	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	The western hub of the Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System. Located on the golf course, it has a retail shop, snack bar, restaurant, lessons, rentals and tours.

South Chicago Creek Cross-country Ski Trail	Clear Creek Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail begins south of Idaho Springs along Highway 103 and leads up South Chicago Creek. It is a good trail for beginner and intermediate skiers.

South Fork Cross-country Ski Trail	Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District, Medicine Bow and Routt National Forests	The South Fork Cross-Country Ski Trail is located north of Steamboat Springs in the Hinman Park area, on Seedhouse Road. It is one of five trails in the Hinman Park Trail System described here.

Stevens Gulch Cross-country Ski Trail	Clear Creek Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail leads up Stevens Gulch south of Bakersville and just east of the Continental Divide.

Sylvan Lake State Park	Sylvan Lake State Park, Colorado State Parks	One of western Colorado's best kept secrets, Sylvan Lake State Park is a haven for those who love the outdoors.

Taylor Pass Road	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This road climbs from the Taylor River Valley, over Taylor Pass, to the Castle Creek Valley, near Ashcroft. This road can be very rough at times, check at District Office before using.

Terminator	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	An exciting trail for advanced cross-country skiers. Used to access the Owl Creek Trail.

Thompson Creek Four-Wheel Drive Road	Sopris Ranger District, White River National Forest	Thompson Creek Road provides access for many hiking and biking trails including the following: South Thompson, Lake Ridge Lakes, Mid Thompson, South Branch of Mid Thompson and Dexter Park. It passes through aspen groves and crosses many small streams.

Tigiwon Road	Holy Cross Ranger District, White River National Forest	Tigiwon Road climbs from just south of Minturn, up to Tigiwon Lodge, Tigiwon Campground, and several trailheads.

Trap Creek Cross-country Ski Trail	Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This Trail begins just east of Joe Wright Reservoir and Cameron Pass. It leads up Long Draw Road, then continues up the Trap Creek Trail.

Village Way	Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System	Connects Snowmass Village with the Snowmass Golf Course tracks.

Waldorf Four-Wheel Drive Road	Clear Creek Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This intermediate trail begins along the Guanella Pass Road south of Georgetown. It leads up Waldorf Road to the site of Waldorf, an old mining town.

Waldrop North Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This is a moderately difficult trail, west of Ward. The trail affords fine views of the Indian Peaks from Brainard Lake. It is one of the most heavily used touring routes on the Front Range.

Waldrop South Trail	Boulder Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This is a relatively easy trail, west of Ward. The trail affords fine views of the Indian Peaks from Brainard Lake. It is one of the most heavily used touring routes on the Front Range.

Weller Lake Trail	Aspen Ranger District, White River National Forest	This is a moderate climb with fair fishing at the lake. There is limited camping (Camp stoves ONLY) at the lake. Because of the fragile alpine tundra, it's recommended that camping be below the timberline.

Zimmerman Lake Cross-country Ski Trail	Canyon Lakes Ranger District, Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests	This trail is located east of Cameron Pass. It follows an old logging road between Hwy. 14 and Zimmerman Lake.
