The Alpine Tunnel is a railroad engineering feat of the nineteenth century. It was the first railroad tunnel over the Continental Divide completed in 1881.
The Windy Point Overlook lies approximately one and a quarter miles west of Slumgullion Pass on Highway 149. This site provides an excellent view of the Slumbullion earth flow and the surrounding terrain.
