Indian Peaks Wilderness	Indian Peaks Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Areas	The Indian Peaks Wilderness is located in north-central Colorado, in the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. It is divided between two Ranger Districts, the Sulphur Ranger District and the Boulder Ranger District.

La Garita Wilderness (Cebolla District)	La Garita Wilderness (Cebolla District)	The predominate recreational activity in this wilderness is hiking and there are a number of wonderful trails to choose from, many of them following creeks.

La Garita Wilderness (Divide District)	La Garita Wilderness (Divide District)	La Garita Wilderness surrounds the Wheeler Geologic Area, an impressive, hard to reach site that contains a startling mass of pinnacles, domes, and spires of rock which are hidden by the surrounding mountains.

La Garita Wilderness (Saguache District)	La Garita Wilderness (Saguache District)	The wilderness is filled with beautiful scenery and many wildlife viewing opportunities. For those wishing to be far away from everything, this is the place.

La Garita Wilderness Area	La Garita Wilderness	The Gunnison and Rio Grande National Forests both claim parts of this large expanse of wilderness. The main attractions to the region are the Wheeler Geologic Area and 14,014-foot San Luis Peak.

Lizard Head Wilderness	Lizard Head Wilderness	The main geological features of this area are Lizard Head Peak and three fourteeners, El Diente, Mount Wilson and Wilson Peak. Navajo Lake is virtually the only body of water in the area.

Lost Creek Wilderness	Lost Creek Wilderness, Pike and San Isabel National Forests	The Lost Creek Wilderness is located less than 40 miles southwest of Denver. It encompasses 105,000 acres with a wide variety of terrain and vegetation types from high mountains to steep canyons.

Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness	Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Areas	The Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness comprises 180,962 acres of the Elk Mountains in central Colorado.

Mount Zirkel Wilderness	Mount Zirkel Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Areas	The Mount Zirkel Wilderness straddles the Park Range of the Continental Divide in northwest Colorado. The wilderness area lies within the Routt National Forest, north of Steamboat Springs and east of Walden.

Mt. Evans Wilderness	Mt. Evans Wilderness	The Mt. Evans Wilderness Area is located close to the Denver, Colorado, metro area. Its boundaries include Mt. Bierstadt and Evans (both 14'ers), 78 miles of trails and many species of wildlife.

Mt. Sneffels Wilderness	Mt. Sneffels Wilderness	The Mt. Sneffels Wilderness encompasses 16,505 acres of material remaining from ancient volcanoes. It is located 4 miles northeast of Telluride, Colorado.

Norwood Ranger District	Norwood Ranger District, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests	The Norwood Ranger District on the Uncompahgre National Forest encompasses a portion of the Uncompahgre Plateau near Norwood, the San Juan Mountains (south of the San Miguel River) and terrain surrounding Telluride.

Ouray Ranger District	Ouray Ranger District, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests	The Ouray Ranger District encompasses the south and east ends of the Uncompahgre Plateau and the northern San Juan Mountains around the town of Ouray.

Paonia Ranger District	Paonia Ranger District, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests	The Paonia Ranger District encompasses the northwest portion of the Gunnison National Forest. It includes much of the North Fork of the Gunnison River drainage and the West Elk Mountains.

Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness	Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Areas	Ptarmigan Peak is composed of lower elevation ecosystems of lodgepole pine and piñon juniper, as well as, spruce-fir and alpine tundra forests. Elevations range from 8,800 to 12,757 feet.

Raggeds Wilderness	Raggeds Wilderness	The Raggeds Wilderness Area is located between Crested Butte and Paonia on Colorado's western slope.

Sangre de Cristo Wilderness	Sangre de Cristo Wilderness	The Sangre De Cristo Wilderness is in south-central Colorado. It starts just south of Salida and ends north of Blanca Peak.

Sangre de Cristo Wilderness (Saguache District)	Sangre de Cristo Wilderness (Saguache District)	The Sangre de Cristo Range is known for its high peaks, high lakes and high use on weekends. The Sangre de Cristo Wilderness encompasses most of the range.

Sangre de Cristo Wilderness (San Carlos District)	Sangre de Cristo Wilderness (San Carlos District)	The Sangre de Cristo Wilderness Area encompasses virtually the entire Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. It contains some 226,000 acres and ranges in elevation from 8,000 to 14,000+ feet.

Sarvis Creek Wilderness	Sarvis Creek Wilderness, Colorado Wilderness Areas	The 47,000 acre Sarvis Creek Wilderness lies in the southern Park Range, south of Steamboat Springs and northeast of Yampa. It is unique in Colorado, in having no prominent peaks and no alpine vegetation zone.

South San Juan Wilderness	South San Juan Wilderness	The South San Juan Wilderness is located within San Juan-Rio Grande National Forests. The Continental Divide splits the Wilderness, running north to south.

Taylor River Ranger District	Taylor River Ranger District, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests	The Taylor River Ranger District encompasses the portion of the Gunnison National Forest north of Gunnison and Blue Mesa Reservoir. It includes the area around Crested Butte and the Taylor River drainage.

Uncompahgre Wilderness	Uncompahgre Wilderness	The Uncompahgre Wilderness encompasses more than 98,000 acres on the Uncompahgre National Forest. It lies south of Curecanti National Recreation Area, northwest of Lake City and northeast of Ouray.

Weminuche Wilderness	Weminuche Wilderness	The Weminuche Wilderness is Colorado's largest roadless area. It encompasses nearly a half million acres in the San Juan Mountains in the southwestern part of the state.
